Eric Tong | Principal Designer of Eravolution

Graduated from The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, Eric Tong is an architect who worked for renowned architects Zaha Hadid and Future Systems before founding his own studio Eravolution. Alongside his roles as adjunct lecturer of Architecture at the Hong Kong University SPACE and lecturer of Innovative Furniture Design at the Hong Kong Design Institute, Tong is also a multiple award-winner of international honours such as the “Best Design Educator” from the Hong Kong Designer Association in 2016, the Perspective “A&D Trophy” Awards in “Best Furniture”, “Best Green Product”, and the “40 Under 40” Award as one of future’s most influential designers.

To Tong, design is a blank canvas open for problem-solving and a better life experience to the users. Purism is therefore at the core of his design practice, where all works are aesthetically reduced to the most basic substance with nothing extra and fancy.
