Do you know that with the average global life expectancy of 75 years, the simple routine of sitting actually takes up one-third to half of our lifetime? Given the vast amount of time and significance we place on sitting, ZUO ZUO takes it as our own mission to offer a new world of quality seating products and enjoyable sitting experience for all ages and purposes ¨C and we believe the solution is in our process of sitting.
The Chinese pinyin ZUO ZUO, literally translates ¡°Zitting and Seating¡± in English and short for ¡°ZNS¡±. The two identical transliterations ZUO (Zitting) and ZUO (Seating), one dynamic and one static, allude to the recurrent life cycle of work and rest; busyness and leisure. The brand name highlights our dedication to the sitting posture, which is not only the miniature of our state of living, but also the reflection of different life philosophies. Sitting is at once an act in situ and in transition: to be seated, yet still moving along the current of time and life. It is essentially a cultural experience of how we ease ourselves into different environments; a lifestyle of how we perceive the world and interact with our surroundings.
Underlying ZUO ZUO¡¯s products is a philosophy of placidity. A chair is not just a piece of dead furniture, with a clear focus on people and pleasure, we provide physical comfort as well as inner peace. Once upon a time, a Chinese family foresaw the future of furnishing industry to be optimistic. As time goes by, their prophecy comes true and furniture has now become an indispensable part of social livelihood and wellbeing. Rather obviously, we are both the mastermind and beneficiary behind that initial vision of the Chinese family. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, our brand ZUO ZUO, also known as ¡°Zitting and Seating (ZNS)¡±, has developed rapidly and reached significant milestones. Our history of uncompromising excellence and commitment to clients have rendered us a symbol of lifestyle, and also a leading strategic pillar to offer experiential solutions.
Infused into the name ZUO ZUO is also the continuous story of our national sense of belonging and cultural solicitude. Practising the Chinese philosophy of life affecting life, people have always been the foremost concern of our business. Such core value is mirrored in our development and expansion of the wide spectrum of sitting products, which cater especially to Chinese and Asian people of different ages and needs. It is also our obligation and ambition to turn the sitting experience into a modern blessing for everyone to enjoy. Enormous efforts have since been devoted to enhance the public¡¯s proper knowledge on sitting and seating - the convenient window to the world.
In order to educate more people on a larger scale on the benefits of sitting, we task ourselves with the corporate social responsibility to deliver our resources and efforts both in the academia and the design industry. Through scholarship or sponsorship offers, our support would go to universities with designated research topics on sitting culture from within and outside China. We have also directed universities and driven different institutes to conduct research related to Asian/Chinese ergonomics and gestures. Internally, ZUO ZUO strives to work out sitting solutions for the entire body specific to the Asian market; externally we too prioritise designers of the Chinese roots when it comes to incubation and promotion.
Along the plot to become the lord in the world of chairs, we must constantly improve to reinforce our position as the cross-cultural expert and professional knowledge leader in sitting and Asian ergonomics.
