With a Master¡¯s Degree in Architecture from the University of Cambridge, Prof. Eric C. Yim is an UK-registered architect, independent furniture designer, brand-driven industrialist, scholar and advisor in design, branding and business innovation. After qualified as an architect in the UK, Prof. Yim practiced architecture with Pritzker Prize winner Sir James Stirling in a number of high-profile projects including the National Library of France, Tokyo International Forum and The Music Academy in Stuttgart.
Prof. Yim was the founder of a major office furniture company in the region and has over 20 years of experience in strategic use of design in business and furniture. As a strong advocate on innovation, Prof. Yim has been actively involved in the design community and furniture industries. He is an adviser to the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Government on Innovation and Strategic Development and a number of think tanks and education institutes in Hong Kong. He had been the Chairman of Design Council of Hong Kong and Chairman of the Hong Kong Furniture & Decoration Trade Association for many years.
